Home Away hosted our first-ever Sports Festival in collaboration with one of Home Away's partner organizations, the SmartLife Foundation. Held at InSportz Dubai, the festival brought together enthusiastic blue-collar workers for a day of sports, fun, and connection.
The event, featured in the Gulf Times and Khaleej Times, included a competitive cricket tournament and an exciting badminton tournament, with more than 150 participants and support from 10 corporations and organizations. To keep the energy high and the atmosphere friendly, we also included a variety of fun, carnival-style games for the families of those who attended.
The festival was a huge success, fostering new connections and providing participants with a much-needed day of enjoyment and camaraderie. It was a clear win for our mission: to build community and bring a sense of home away from home.

DISTRIUTIONS
Home Away also extends its community-building efforts beyond large-scale events through regular local distributions at labour camps across the UAE. With the help of volunteers, we deliver thoughtfully curated hampers filled with daily essentials such as hygiene products, groceries, and household items to support the wellbeing of migrant workers.
These visits are about more than just providing supplies — they’re an opportunity to connect personally with the workers, listen to their stories, and show appreciation for their contributions to the community. Each distribution brings warmth and positivity to the camps, creating moments of joy and togetherness.
Through these ongoing initiatives, Home Away continues to strengthen its mission of creating a supportive and welcoming environment for blue-collar workers — ensuring that, no matter where they are in the UAE, they always feel a little closer to home.
